Nautical Miles A sailing voyage around the world. "A musical, mystical journey" says Jim Knoll, New York Music. Jeroen Roeper from Tracks Online referred to Nautical Miles as "12 beautiful tracks blending together perfectly making one big musical adventure". Nautical Miles, a musical journey around the world on a sailing ship. If you can imagine a blue sky, a brisk wind and the flap of three masts of white sails, then you are ready for this album. You will be swept away for an hour of pure enjoyment with this theme album that starts with Anthem of The Sea and South By Southwest, then transports you to many exotic places, such as an experience with the Bermuda Triangle, Into The Triangle. You'll encounter a Storm at Barbados that starts with light stereo rain drops, then the title song, Nautical Miles. Experience the African Mystique, a haunting song as we set foot on the dark continent. From the west coast of Africa, sail around the Cape of Good Hope where the ship's cat, Shorty, dies after traveling with us for nearly 20 years, The Angels Sang For Shorty. We follow the Winds To The Orient on our way to visit some friends, where you will hear the deliberately unrehearsed sounds of an impromptu outdoor steel drum band at the Island Stop. As we set sail again there is a mysterious Ghost Wind before finally Sailing Home. Most of this album has an orchestral sound but with more acoustic instruments including six and 12 string guitars. We highly recommend headphones for this album due to the subtle stereo panning and light effects that may be lost with home speakers.
